Manhattan College, Higgins Engineering & Science Center

This project consisted of the new construction of a 35,000 SF extension to the College’s existing Engineering and Science Building. It also included the renovation of 20,000 SF within the existing 100 year old building. This extension added over 50,000 SF of new Engineering and Science Labs for the College along with additional MEP infrastructure for the future renovation of the remainder of the building.

Additional work for the project included, demolition and abatement of the existing buildings, extensive pile driving for the extension, new green space work, and application for a LEED Gold Rating. VVA was involved from the early stages, including review of concept drawings, procurement of enabling works scope (demo, abatement, service relocations), value engineering of systems to meet the actual needs of the project, the lump sum bid, change order requests and the final financial close-out for the out of the ground project and renovation.
